Going “Green Screen” with Apple Computers and Others.

The new green for your old Apple ipods or computers is not in the color of the monitor – remember amber and green screens? – but in the recycling program instituted at Super Warehouse.

You can make your old Apple computer green as well as clean, using Super Warehouse’s data sanitization service. This is through their AIT, short for AnythingIT’s Recycle Tomorrow Program.  This program even meets the Department of Defense Security requirements in ensuring that customers’ data is wiped from their Apple computers and macbooks, and other computers’ hard drives. Guarding against any possibility of identity theft, this service is useful and necessary for private citizens, government, and corporations.

At Super Warehouse locations, management and staff set examples by using reusable silverware, glassware and dishes for their meals in the break room.  How much better does a cappuccino taste in a reusable mug with a picture of your cat on it, than it does in a styrofoam cup?  Their entire office is lit using energy efficient light bulbs.  They have also gone paperless as much as possible.  You could consider getting a scanner and/or using a computer program which enables you to use your Apple macbook as an electronic filing cabinet.  Apple computers can also convert, instantly, documents to the popular PDF program, which can be read by anyone using an Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available free for download.

Computer

I have a new Apple computer – one of those all in one slender and modern ones, which I keep and use constantly, even though I also have a PC.  Nothing is better than an Apple for downright reliability, consistency, ease of use and even beauty.  Operating systems are different on Apple computers and PCs – on Apple each program is wholly contained within itself and not strung together or linked to each other, like on PCs.  This makes removal or addition of new or old programs much easier.  And it’s easier to keep track of them.

A lot of major and even minor software programs made for PCs, are also available for Apple computers, and they can often be read by each other even though the program may be in their own separate operating system (although some software can be read by either computer).

So, as you sit at your desk, working with your new Apple computer, listening to your Apple ipod nano (available in a veritable rainbow of colors) slipped into your pocket; feeling satisfied that you have used data sanitization services from Super Warehouse and have also recycled your ancient but colorful Apple computer; sipping coffee from your ceramic mug and studying under the light from your curly-bulbed lamp; you feel happy and content and well-started along the long road to becoming as green as you can be.

The sun is shining outside – isn’t life green and wonderful?
